# Élise OS > Élise OS is a free, local-first home system that helps families look out for a relative who lives alone: discreet sensors, a caregiver space, a mobile app and the resident's TV. It runs on a Raspberry Pi 4/5 or an Ubuntu Server 24.04 machine. It is not a medical device or an emergency service. ## Install - [Installation instructions for coding agents](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/install.md): step-by-step, with safety rules. - [Download](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/download/): latest release files, checksums and signatures. ## Documentation - [Overview](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/docs/start/) - [Install on Raspberry Pi](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/docs/start/raspberry-pi/) - [Install on Ubuntu](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/docs/start/ubuntu/) - [Install with Docker Compose](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/docs/start/docker/) - [Architecture](https://eliseos.paulbreton.dev/en/docs/concepts/architecture/) - [Source code](https://github.com/Elise-OS/EliseOS)
